DESCRIPTION:The International Geological Congress (IGC) is a non-profit scientific and educational organization whose meetings are held in collaboration with\, and under sponsorship of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS). The 37th International Geological Congress (IGC 2024)\,will be held in Busan from August 25 to 31\, 2024 in Busan\, Korea. \nThe theme of this Congress will be The Great Travelers: Voyages to the Unifying Earth. \nAs we stand on the threshold of what may be called the Anthropocene\, where an ecosystem is irreversibly influenced by human activities\, the active discussions\, discoveries\, principal findings\, and development of knowledge during IGC 2024\, Busan will assist us to predict better and solve anthropogenic global environmental changes\, natural hazards\, and changes in terrestrial and marine resources and ecosystems. \nIGC 2024 Busan will contribute to establishing a global network of “E-geology\,” such as a “Virtual Fieldwork Program” connecting important geological sites through the internet. Access to relevant information about important geological sites will be available online. This will lead to a new evolution in the future of geological science education. \nThe event\, held at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Centre (BEXCO) includes the GeoExpo exhibition\, GeoFilm Festival\, networking events and a programme of pre-congress\, mid-congress and post-congress field trips focused on Geology of Korea\, Geoparks\, and Geohazards. \nREGISTRATION is open until midnight\, Friday 26th July \n was last modified:   by
