This industry gathering will showcase what is happening in China and across Asia as well as look at the leading role companies in the region play as suppliers to the global specialty metals industry and strategic sectors such as energy transition. SUMMARY:The MMTA’s International Minor Metals Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:The MMTA’s International Minor Metals Conference will be held at the Cutlers Hall\, Sheffield 11-13 April 2022. \nThe current fees for MMTA is £1100 plus VAT for MMTA Members and £1500 plus VAT for Non-Members. \nAs part of the conference we are delighted to announce that ICD Europe Ltd and ICD Alloys & Metals LLC are sponsoring a Scramble 4 Ball Tournament on Sunday 10th April. This will take place at the beautiful Lindrick Golf Club\, a short 30 minute drive from Sheffield. \nThe fee is £150 per person and this includes return transport\, green fees\, brunch\, drinks and a Prize Giving Reception. We will depart Sheffield at 10:45hrs and return at approximately 19:30hrs.  Please note that the fee does not include the hire of golf shoes or golf clubs\, these can be rented from the club. \nPlaces are limited so early booking is advisable. \n  \nField Trips during the MMTA’s Minor Metals conference. \nMonday April 11 – Visit to The AMRC’s Factory 2050  \nThe AMRC Factory 2050 is the UK’s first state of the art factory\, entirely dedicated to conducting collaborative research into reconfigurable digitally assisted assembly\, component manufacturing and machining technologies and is capable of rapidly switching production between different high-value components and one-off parts. \nFactory 2050 is the first building to be completed on the University of Sheffield’s new Advanced Manufacturing Campus. The 6\,730 sq m landmark circular glass building and rectangular extension is home to the AMRC’s Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG). \nThere are places for 30 people only on this trip. If you would like to take part please email rachel@metalevents.com \nWednesday April 13 – visit to Sheffield Forgemaster’s forge & melt shop \nThe origins of Sheffield Forgemasters date back to the 1750s as a small blacksmith forge. Edward Vickers\, a traditional mill owner\, set up the foundations for the business as a modern steel producer in 1805. Since then the company has been associated  with many famous steel industry names such as English Steel\, Firth Brown\, British Steel and River Don Castings. \nSheffield Forgemasters is now capable of producing the largest and most technically challenging cast and forged steel components in the world. \nThis visit is limited to 20 people maximum.
