Until July\, Brendan served as Director for China Economics at the National Security Council\, where he was responsible for coordinating U.S. government economic\, technology\, and engagement policy towards China. Brendan’s previous Defense Department posts include China Country Director in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He has also served as Treasure Department Attache in Beijing\, and Acting Head of International Relations and Country Risk at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
