Field Sales Engineer, North America

The Field Sales Engineer, North America is responsible for serving as Indium Corporation’s lead sales contact and customer advocate to maintain existing sales and to drive new qualifications and sales of Indium Corporation products and services through effective account management and coordination of efforts throughout Indium Corporation’s Metals, Compounds, Solar and Reclaim (MCSR) organization. 


  • Develop, cultivate and follow-up with prospective and existing customers to generate orders for Indium Corporation products and services 
  • Develop an in-depth expertise of the product offerings, including their respective markets and product attributes 
  • Work to gain insight into customer activities for future R&D developments, needs/qualifications with the goal of involving Indium Corporation in the early stages 
  • Respond to customer requests for product data, product specifications and product service information as needed or requested by customers and the market place 
  • Identify customer requirements, priorities and new opportunities and effectively convey such throughout the relevant Indium organization 
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at existing and target accounts and gain favored advantages for the use of Indium products 
  • Gather competitive insight, including pricing, delivery and performance information, and share such intelligence with internal departments as applicable 
  • Visit customer facilities to observe manufacturing processes and exchange information 
  • Promote industry recognition of Indium Corporation, its products and services through engaging in tradeshows, organizations, etc., coordinating attendance activities as needed 
  • Be a key member of the overall team, which includes the worldwide sales organization, product management, operations, engineering, R&D etc., and communicate openly and effectively including participation in planning activities 
  • Submit required paperwork in a timely manner, such as visit reports, sales objective and monthly summary reports 


  • Associates degree in a business or technical discipline 
  • Minimum 2 years related sales or technical field experience 
  • Technical aptitude 
  • Personable individual, who has excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Able to travel upon short notice 
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
