Manager Purchasing and Sales of Secondaries

Role:                Sales and sourcing

• London Chemicals & Resources Limited based in Westerham, UK requires an experienced individual to join our secondaries team handling spent catalysts and other metal containing secondaries. Involving extensive overseas travel, the role would suit someone with technical sales experience gained from oil, gas, petrochemical, catalyst areas, alternatively an experienced manager from a trading background. We source metal containing secondary materials globally and arrange for these to be recycled into chemicals and metals. With support and guidance by the management team, the candidate will develop their own areas of sourcing and sales of metal containing spent catalysts, ashes, concentrates, drosses, plating sludges, muds and other metal containing materials. The work involves many industries although primarily the secondaries are in the form of spent catalysts coming from the oil, gas and petrochemical industries and contain following metals: cobalt, copper, molybdenum, nickel, PMs, tungsten, vanadium and zinc.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Arranging purchases and sales of metal containing secondaries and other materials globally.
• Help build upon established relations with processors and locate new ones.
• Liaise and visit companies in various industries.
• Attend trade exhibitions and other industry relevant events.
• Preparing and issuing purchase and sales contracts.
• Work closely with the LCR logistics and operations team to ensure smooth trade processing.
• Reports to department head in London and ultimately the Managing Director.

Qualifications / Experience

• Minimum of 5 or more years’ experience with either international sales or trading of metal containing secondaries and preferably spent catalysts.
• Connections with processors of secondaries and/or knowledge of oil refineries and gas producers.
• An existing book of business useful but not essential.
• Familiarity with LME and Fastmarkets publications for metals pricing.
• Thorough understanding of Incoterms.
• Knowledge and understanding of containerisation/operations/logistics.
• Language(s) could be useful.
