Carbomax AB was established in July 1992. The company initially focused on the Swedish metallurgical market and the supply of tailor-made Carbon products for recarburizing, foaming slags in electric arc furnaces and for carbon reduction processes. In August 1995, we launched our own facility for warehousing and for the handling of Carbomax’s products. The plant is located in the city of Vasteras, Sweden.

Since then, Standard Ferro Alloys and Metals have been added to Carbomax’s list of products and, Carbomax’s market now includes most countries in northern Europe.

With the acquisition of the company AB Ferrolegeringar (ABF) in 2014, we became one of the biggest suppliers in the Nordic countries. Our sales of raw materials reach approx. 95.000 metric tonnes / year.  The “new” Carbomax AB portfolio now also    includes speciality metals, like Ferro Niobium, Nickel, Ferro Molybdenum, Minor Metals and Cored wires.

Our facilities include equipment for drying, crushing, sieving, packing and warehousing of most products. Our warehousing capacity exceeds 15.000 m2. In 2011, we started our own briquetting operation,   focusing on sustainability issues. We are increasingly handling industrial wastes and by-products from our customers to facilitate the recycling of metals.

The set-up in Vasteras together with our extra warehousing facilities in the north of Sweden and in Finland allow us to offer the highest standards of quality, customer service, accuracy in supply and   flexibility.

We also trade in bulk ferroalloys and noble ferroalloys

We are certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001 since 2002.
