Lipmann Walton & Co Ltd was founded in 1953 by Eric Lipmann who later went on to found Ayrton & Partners Ltd in 1958 with Sam Ayrton. Eric Lipmann then went on to become the ring dealing member representative on the London Metal Exchange for Continental Ore Company in the late 1960\’s. Today the company remains family-owned. Anthony Lipmann was MMTA Chairman 2003-2006.
Lipmann Walton & Co Ltd specializes in the supply of a wide range of prime and virgin special metals and special metal scrap for the manufacture of master and super alloys. Elements traded include high temperature alloying additions such as Tantalum, Niobium, Rhenium & Ruthenium, also electronic metals, Gallium, Indium & Germanium, and light diffraction materials such as Thallium. Other items traded include both the pure and scrap forms of Zirconium and Hafnium metal and, latterly, Strontium and Calcium are finding niche uses in new alloys.
