Many MMTA Members will need to prepare for the May 2018 deadline for their smaller tonnages (1 – 100 tonnes per year),

The MMTA wishes to support its members with their REACH obligations by offering cost efficient tools to keep more substances on the market and SMEs in business.

To assist Members in this process, the MMTA is conducting a confidential inventory in collaboration with Karine Van de Velde of KV Consulting Services BVBA to understand:

Þ For which substances your company would like to check what the 2018 REACH cost will be before deciding how to proceed.

Find out:

Þ Which of your 2018 substances have been registered by someone else already, and how you can make contact with the Registrant;

Þ Which of your 2018 substances are currently being worked on, and how you can make contact with those preparing for registration;

Þ Which of your substances will need to start from scratch. These ‘orphan substances’ are candidates for the new consortium.

By beginning this process now, there will be more time to organise the industry, spread costs, keep more substances on the market and more SMEs in business as of May 2018.

The REACH Orphan Substances Consortium (ROSC) has been launched

 

Three renowned and experienced service providers – ARCHE, Chemservice and KV Consulting Services – have founded the REACH Orphan Substances Consortium (ROSC). ROSC aims to deliver an efficient and all-included package for the 2018 registration deadline and provides potential registrants with the unique opportunity to register their “Orphan” substance (organic and inorganic) under one overarching consortium.

Orphan substances are those substances that have no or limited data and no existing organization working on them.

 

Some of the benefits of having a single consortium for different “orphan” substances:

· Open to organics and inorganics

· Only 1 combined but experienced secretariat
