Chris has close to fifteen years of experience in the minor metal supply and superalloy recycling sectors. As Commercial Director for ICD Europe Ltd., Chris has been instrumental in establishing ICD as a leading supplier of Hafnium, Tantalum, Tungsten, Molybdenum, Niobium, Rhenium, Zirconium and various other minor metal products within the UK, European and Asian markets. Within his current role, he has developed ICD’s commercial growth strategy, which has resulted in the formation of several new business units with unique product lines. He is heavily involved in compliance related topics such as UK/EU REACH and RMI. He has promoted ICD with several external accreditation and awards bodies, notably the King’s Awards for International Trade, which ICD was a proud recipient of in both 2022, and 2024.
Chris holds an MBA (with distinction) from the University of Sheffield (2022), and a BSc in Mathematics-Economics from the University of Leeds (2011). He is a Freeman of the Cutlers Company of Hallamshire, and a Guardian of the Sheffield Assay Office. Chris has sat on the MMTA Board since 2023 and has served as Treasurer since 2024.

Dan Bowman is a Trader at Wogen Resources Ltd and has spent over a decade working as a trader of metals based in Europe, South Africa and the UK with experience across finished metals, ores and concentrates. Additionally, Dan spent time as an Analyst in Mergers and Acquisitions with Hannam & Partners LLP, working with a variety of listed mining & metals companies. Dan holds a BA Hons degree from Bristol Business School, is an Associate of the Institute of Securities and Investments, Dan is on the board of the MMTA, and has previously held the role of Treasurer.

George is a partner in the marine, trade and aviation team, and heads the international trade and commodities disputes group. He is an expert in resolving disputes related to oil and gas, metals and mining, and soft commodities.
His clients include national oil companies, governments, international trading companies, trade finance banks, arbitration institutions, and high-net-worth individuals. He deals with disputes concerning upstream and downstream issues in the energy sector, commodities sale and purchase agreements, trade finance disputes, complex fraud allegations, maritime law, and commercial and agency contracts. George also advises clients on non-contentious regulatory and compliance matters. His expertise spans handling complex multi-party disputes in the Commercial Court and under international arbitration rules, such as those of the ICC, UNCITRAL, and LCIA, as well as trade arbitration rules, including those of the Sugar Association of London (SAL), Refined Sugar Association (RSA), Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations (FOSFA), Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), and British Coffee Association (BCA).
George serves as a director of the Minor Metals Trade Association (MMTA) and chairs the MMTA Arbitration and Mediation Committee. He completed a six-month secondment to the in-house legal department of Shell International in London. George regularly presents at international industry events on trade finance, commodities, maritime law, oil and gas, and arbitration. He has also served as an honorary legal adviser at the Royal Courts of Justice CAB on a pro bono basis.

As Vice President – Special Metals at CCMA, John currently leads the strategy for CCMA in the sourcing and selling of specialty metals, alloys and chemicals – with a heavy focus on the vacuum melt quality Ni, Co and Ti based superalloy industry.
The core business is mainly focused on the key elements driving the melting operations which supply to casting and forging operations helping to support global aviation, power generation, energy storage and medical implant industries.
Prior to joining CCMA, John held roles with both Arconic and Hickman, Williams & Company. John graduated in 2012 from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Simon is an experienced Sales Director and Metals Industry Leader with over 20 years of progressive responsibility across specialty metals, superalloy revert, technical sales, and metallurgical operations.
Simon joined Advanced Alloy Services in January 2026 after almost nine years as General Manager (Specialty Metals) with another MMTA member, William Rowland, revert processors of high temperature alloys.
He had previously been Technical Sales Manager at ELG Utica Alloys, a leading suppliers of raw materials and superalloy melting materials to global industries including aerospace, power engineering, oil and gas, specialty steel and foundries.
Simon has a strong technical background in high‑temperature alloys and steel raw materials, and extensive experience of raw material sourcing and global operations leadership. He has a proven track record in driving commercial growth and leading teams within global metals and alloy supply chains.
Simon’s qualifications include Bachelor of Science in Forensic Engineering, working with principles of Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamics, Electrical Engineering, Failure of Materials and Metallurgy.
